Lime Thinking create bespoke web solutions that are accessible and standards compliant.

CMS: Done Right

We make software to work with your exact requirements, we do NOT bend existing software and try to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Appearance

We template the site's design completely independently from the functional code. The design is applied after the content structure is in place, as such, the design can be changed easily. To avoid users choosing inappropriate colours or fonts, we give users a set of styles from which they can choose. By agreeing these up front, the website always stays faithful to the branding guidelines set down from central marketing.

Functionality

Our top priority is functionality. We make sure your application or website works exactly how you want it to. We are very proud of our reputation of "working with operators". This means that we speak to the people that are going to be using the CMS every day and make sure that it's as easy for them to use as possible. From moving the order of form inputs, to changing the tab order of elements, every second that is saved whilst working with the CMS makes it so much more valuable to your business.

Publishing Changes

Many CMS products have you edit a page and then submit the content. The content is then immediately live. While this may seem efficient, it does create problems. For example, if you want to upload a number of new products at the same time they will seem to be appearing one by one. Alternatively you may want to create one page that links to another that you will create in a few minutes, as soon as the first one goes live, the link will be dead. A Lime Thinking CMS has a publishing phase to all work. Any amount of CMS operations can be done and "staged" so they are not live. When all of your CMS work has been completed and you are ready to launch your changes, they can be published all at once, making all the new information available together.

Writer/Editor Roles

Sometimes, there may be a real business need for no changes to be made live to a system unless they have all been approved by the appropriate people. In this instance, Writer users can make any content changes they wish but be restricted from publishing the changes, only someone with the Editor role could make the changes live.
