Hosting is concerned with putting in place all the systems to make a
website available to the public. It involves networking, power supply, data
storage and servers (computers).
Lime Thinking take our hosting very seriously and work in partnership with Krystal to offer a high performance and reliable hosting platform. The datacentre was originally built as a communications hub, coordinating radar data from all over the country, so it is well suited to its new role. As is customary, the military spared no expense in making the facility as good and as secure as possible. The facility has redundant cooling, power and connectivity and each room that houses servers is a Faraday cage.
Do I Need To Do Anything?
No, we will take care of all the hosting requirements for your site.
Self-Hosting
We are happy to work with your IT department if you wish to host your own website, although this is usually more expensive in the long run due to the extra time involved.
Do you host other people's websites?
Not usually. We are very serious about our servers and they are finely tuned to provide our customers with the best hosting possible. Due to the configuration and potential security risks with third party code we typically do not offer hosting on our servers to non Lime Thinking websites.
